Dr Eric Wang is an early career academic and joined JCU in 2017. He teaches Matlab programming, digital control systems and digital system design. He was the runner-up in The Asia-Pacific Robot Contest (ABU Robocon) 2006 and received the best paper award from the IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference, Cancun, Mexico, in 2011. His now working on two industry projects. First, he is investigating decision support tools for irrigation management to reduce the time farmers spend on irrigation, increase irrigation efficiency, improve yields and reduce pollution run-off to the Great Barrier Reef. Second, he is digitally automating a process by which the reliability of Anchor Retrieval Devices can be tested.
